The best thing about the Ala Moana Hotel is its location within the Ala Moana Shopping Center property. It's also a 5 minute walk from Ala Moana Beach. Unfortunately, we found the bed and pillows to be uncomfortable, and our hotel neighbors were NOISY!

Ohia Waikiki Studio Suites, hotel in Honolulu

Located in the Waikiki district in Honolulu, 984 feet from Waikiki Beach Area, Ohia Waikiki Studio Suites features air-conditioned rooms.

We were on different floors but it was ok, the beach was a few blocks away, the room had some uninvited pests ROACHES, and the facilities needed a serious makeover, but it was good for the price. I wish I could have spent a little more to get a more decent hotel.

Waikiki Resort Hotel, hotel in Honolulu

Just a 2-minute walk from Waikiki Beach and Kuhio Beach Park, this hotel has an outdoor pool and terrace. Each room and suite includes a private balcony with ocean, mountain or city views.

The hotel is located less a standard city block from Waikiki Beach. I pretty sure I asked for a Queen bed, but we were given 2 Full beds. It's also a short walk to the Zoo if you turn left at the beach. Very close to the fancy shops if you turn right at the beach. I'd stay here again. The beds were comfortable, the wifi worked. Thank God there was not a "resort fee" tacked on that I recall. We arrived early and were able to leave our bags with Leo at the bell station and wander out. Morimoto's ramen restaurant is nearby and distinctively tasty. The Continental breakfast is good - rolls, fruit coffee, I think some hard-boiled eggs. The Ilima restaurant has a good breakfast and our booking included 50% off certain items there. Made for a great start. On the 12th floor the balcony was pretty windy. The pool is a good size for kids and to swim in for women to lounge beside. Shaded during some parts of the day. Would stay here again.

FAQs about hotels in Honolulu

A True Water Sports Paradise

Standing proudly on the island of Oahu in the Pacific Ocean, Honolulu is the Hawaiian capital, meaning "a sheltered bay." Spreading along the white sandy beaches and supported by the strong back of the volcanic mountains, it's a real island paradise.

Honolulu's most popular and famous district, Waikiki, features the stunning Waikiki Beach decorated with hundreds of surfboards, palms and lounge chairs. It’s also a center for the city’s nightlife and shopping, especially along Kalakaua and Kuhio Avenues.

As the most popular activities in Honolulu include surfing, snorkeling, canoeing and other water sports, it's no surprise the city has a number of sandy beaches. Try Hanauma Bay, a crescent-shaped beach with rolling, green hills behind it.

For fans of hiking and exploring, nature awaits at Diamond Head Mountain, a volcanic tuff cone where you can admire the panoramic view of the city. There is also the Bishop Museum with the world’s largest collection of Hawaiian and Pacific artifacts and the Waikiki Aquarium with over 490 species of marine fauna and flora.

From hotels near Honolulu International Airport to hotels near the beach, Booking.com has plenty of properties, from cheap to luxury, for your Honolulu trip.

Love the warm balmy atmosphere, the trade winds mean you never feel hot or sticky. And the water is so warm at the beach. Love the gardens everywhere and the lovely paved footpaths. The whole tourist area is kept very clean neat and beautiful. The food is fantastic. There is so much free entertainment too. Live bands and hula performances outdoors everywnere. Once you're there you don't have to spend much money at all and there is so much to do and see. You can get cheap food at the food courts plus ABC and Seven-11 stores. And The Bus is so cheap and the drivers are very helpful. Don't miss the fee Military Museum at Fort Derussy park. And the zoo is wonderful. Plus of course the two best attractions, Pearl Harbor and the Polynesian Cultural Centre. And swimming at Waikiki beach in late afternoon and sunset is superb.

    Honolulu was pretty.

Honolulu was pretty. I was shocked at the graffiti I saw at Wai Kiki. That needs to be cleaned up and new walk ways put in. You hear of this beautiful breach your whole life and then you show up and there is graffiti. the people were nice and the beaches were great and on the north shore. Wai Kiki was nice but just busy and graffiti at some spots.

I come every year to Honolulu for an annual conference at one of the big hotels. Honolulu is ok I suppose but it is really just like any provincial US city with beaches! I hear that the other islands are more pleasant. Personally, I would never bring the family for a vacation in Honolulu itself.

When we arrived the hotel gave us a really nice room with a beautiful view and left a little anniversary gift. Staff was very friendly and accommodating, our room was cleaned nicely during room service. One bedroom apartment was really spacious and has a full kitchen so you can cook. Location is great it’s on the quieter side of Waikiki I guess, there is a car rental next door so it was really handy. Parking was $25 for 24 hours which was cheaper than other hotels I think. Would 100% stay here again.

Room was nice and clean, comfortable bed and even if the balcony was not very nice to seat at it was nice to be able to hang bathing suit and towels outside. The staff is the best, they are all very nice and welcoming. Another plus was breakfast, since Covid hotels give breakfast bags, the one we had everyday was not deceiving, everyday we got eggs, potatoes, hawaiien bun, fruits, yogurt, coffee, and juice) Finally, hotel is in the heart of Waikiki, nice to be able to go walk around at night.

They served us fresh pineapple juice upon arrival and the lobby is very nice. The free breakfast was also nice. Finally, they do have beach chairs and umbrellas that you can borrow, and the beach is just a few steps away. The location of this hotel is pretty good - it isn't beachfront, but it's pretty close and much cheaper than what is on the beach. Loved Maguro Spot - the poke place just kitty corner from the entrance.

This is my favourite hotel in Waikiki and our third stay in less than three years. The location is perfect, the staff are incredible, the room is a decent size and you can always get a lounger at the pool.
